The title “BURACO” (Portuguese: hole) hints at the central theme of the piece: Everything here has holes and everything makes holes. Everything can be crossed, entered or exited; you can fall in, stay a while, disappear inside. And what is it like on the other side? Black, skin-like, green, patterned, hairy. This is a never-ending adventure in matter, with no directions. “BURACO” is a world of its own within the world.
The piece arose from the desire to share alternative approaches to logic and abstraction with a young audience, and so create a space for an adventure that engages our senses and our sensibility.
Holes are understood here as a connecting element: between the world inside and outside the body, between different bodies, between different materials.
“BURACO” is an adventure for children and adults.
