A network for artists and organizers

This format aims to give the festival’s participating artists the chance to get to know each other and our cooperating partners – beyond the hustle and bustle of the festival. Professional event organisers and festival visitors are welcome to join the forum, to exchange views and find out about different dance scenes in Germany and abroad.
Round-up also provides an important opportunity to discuss experiences of working for young audiences, and especially school-classes – from the perspective of dancers and choreographers as well as that of venue staff.
This meeting will be moderated by the artistic director of PURPLE, Canan Erek.

Dance Battle & Dance Party

Date: Saturday, 27.01.24, 19:00–24:00 pm, from 16 years
Venue: Uferstudio 14
We call for improvisational talent and playful fighting spirit. Three teams from different dance scenes compete with their own choreography. Soloists have exactly one minute to sweep the audience off its feet. The fusion of all styles is unique in its range: swing, krump, contemporary dance, twerking, ballet, African dance, hip-hop, vogueing, tango and much more.
As the dancers of the different dance styles improvise to music provided by the DJ – funk, classical, hip-hop and more – surprising new movement ideas and inspirations emerge.
The winners of the evening in the categories team / solo / duet will be chosen by a top-class jury. The audience decides on the winners of the solo performances and is invited to dance themselves during the breaks.
After the "award ceremony" our party will start for everyone, until midnight!
