“The Cat Who Wanted to Change Her Tale,” a captivating dancepuppet show for all ages, inspired by a traditional Sanskrit story. This unique production explores themes of friendship, trust, and what it means to be human through the lives of four unlikely cohabitants: a Cat, an Owl, a Lizard, and a Mouse. Set amidst the intricate roots of a Banyan tree, predator and prey have found a delicate balance, until a hunter’s trap ensnares the Cat. The Mouse, on a promise of peace, frees the Cat, yet struggles to trust her newfound all and so the Mouse is ultimately caught by the Owl, such are the inherent laws of nature, until the puppets themselves decide to give a new turn to the story. The show features stunning puppetry, with each character brought to life, by four versatile performers. A modular set, enhanced by video projections of the Banyan tree, creates an immersive experience. Accompanied by an Indian-infused soundtrack, the performance depicts the animals’ hierarchies, the thrilling encounter with the hunter, and the Mouse’s brave act of salvation.
