Dance workshop for children (6–9 years)

In this workshop, we play games in a group to have fun and improve our sense of rhythm and musicality. We start from the children’s natural desire to move. We encourage them to experiment and share their experiences. The children are given the opportunity to express their feelings and experiences through dance.

The workshop is aimed at children aged 6 – 9
Participation in our dance workshops is free of charge.

Alessandra Defazio from Italy graduated in dance theatre from the Folkwang University in Essen in 2006. She works as a dancer, choreographer and teacher mainly in Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. She has worked with renowned artists and dance companies such as Romeo Castellucci, Cindy Van Acker, Susanne Linke, Leandro Kees, Tanzcompagnie Rubato, Anna Konjetzky, Zufit Simon, Micha Purucker, Davide Camplani, Sebastian Hirn, Willy Dorner, Allora & Calzadilla, Canan Erek, Kuo-Chu Wu, Orlando Rodriguez and Stella Geppert.

Since 2016 she has been working with Sasha Waltz & Guests and the children’s dance company of Sasha Waltz & Guests. Alessandra has been part of the educational team of PURPLE – International Dance Festival for Young Audiences in Berlin since the beginning.
