Dance workshop for children (10–13 years)

The participating children expand their dance vocabulary through simple exercises that introduce them to different movement sequences. We playfully encourage their musicality, coordination, flexibility, spatial awareness and concentration. Improvisation gives them access to their own creativity and a wide range of expressive possibilities in dance. The workshop gives the children the chance to get to know their bodies and their abilities better, thereby developing self-confidence and self-awareness.

The workshop is aimed at children aged 10–13
Sunday from 14:00 to 15:30 h.
Participation in our dance workshops is free of charge.

Alessandra Defazio from Italy graduated in dance theatre from the Folkwang University in Essen in 2006. She works as a dancer, choreographer and teacher mainly in Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.

She has worked with renowned artists and dance companies such as Romeo Castellucci, Cindy Van Acker, Susanne Linke, Leandro Kees, Tanzcompagnie Rubato, Anna Konjetzky, Zufit Simon, Micha Purucker, Davide Camplani, Sebastian Hirn, Willy Dorner, Allora & Calzadilla, Canan Erek, Kuo-Chu Wu, Orlando Rodriguez and Stella Geppert.

Since 2016 she has been working with Sasha Waltz & Guests and the children’s dance company of Sasha Waltz & Guests. Alessandra has been part of the educational team of PURPLE – International Dance Festival for Young Audiences in Berlin since the beginning.

Lilith Borchert is a dance and movement teacher in Berlin. She completed her training (state-certified by the Technical University of Munich) in 2016. In 2021 she completed her studies in theater studies at the Free University of Berlin. Since then, she has been working at the intersection of movement, education and culture, teaching dance and yoga to various age groups.

Since 2021, Lilith Borchert has been part of the permanent team of PURPLE – the international dance festival for young audiences in Berlin.
