Wettergeschichten

The play is an entertaining collage of dances, songs and stories about people’s relationship with the weather, and is designed to give children a sense of just how closely we are all connected.
For this piece, we are drawing on traditional dances from various cultures, which already explore the themes of the weather and nature.
Dance is not only one of humanity’s oldest forms of expression, but has also, throughout history, reflected people’s relationship with their surroundings. In many dance cultures, there are therefore dances that either respond directly to nature, reflect the distinctive features of the landscape, or express people’s lives as biological beings.
The play makes use of Holovision technology – an innovative system for displaying three-dimensional objects on stage. For the younger generation in particular, three-dimensionality is already a perfectly normal part of their visual experiences, as it features in almost all computer games today.
