Schedule
After the performance there will be a follow-up workshop with all participating artists.
Duration: approx. 40min.
Together! Three people are standing on the stage: the female dancer Rebecca Weingartner, the male dancer Raul Martinez and the musician Herve Samb. With life stories as varied as their careers, they all know what it is like to feel you don’t belong.
Choreographer Rebecca Weingartner previously tried to overcome barriers in “EQUALITY”, her last piece for a young audience, dealing with injustices between the sexes. Now, with “SOLIDARITY!” she looks at diversity: How can we come together despite our differences? How can we create spaces where borders are irrelevant? How can we create a community that sees diversity as a benefit rather than a threat? The three performers in “SOLIDARITY!” show how that might be possible – and how much fun it could be. Encouraging each other to break out of their comfort zones, the musician dares to dance and the dancers make music and sing. To do so, they need not only to summon up courage but also to get some support – from each other and from the audience. What emerges on the stage is a wonderful temporary community, a rousing celebration of solidarity, where everyone can feel welcome – no matter how different they are.
