After the performance, all children will have the opportunity to get to know the dancers and to go through a showjumping course of mats with them. They will try out the movement elements from the play and explore their own ideas in the scenography made of mats, too.
Duration: 30 min.
It is sport and it is dance: “Matta Matta 2.0” is a performance about safety and risk. Three dancers get lost and find themselves in an adventurous landscape of gymnastic mats. Large soft-floor mats and jagged blue foam mats, which can be puzzled into each other to form carpets or stands of any size, become the sophisticated stage set of the dance piece. Sometimes they form a protective space, other times they block the view and create tense situations. The choreography by Jasper Džuki Jelen and Mojra Vogelnik is lively, wild, playful and challenging. Again and again, the performers develop dance dialogues and duels and impress with daring dance moves. They roll, slide, jump and fly across the mats, pull the floor out from under each other’s feet, throw themselves exuberantly on top of and over each other. But they also show impressively that daredevilry only works together and with mutual support. “Matta Matta 2.0 provides new choreographic moments of surprise again and again through supposedly simple tricks.
