“Hush” oscillates between a dance performance and a pop concert: here, the dancers become musicians and the musicians become dancers. Delicate guitar spins drive the performers into each other’s arms while their bodies move to the rhythm of the music. The story unfolds through the alert sensitivity and commitment that the performers show each other, just being there and providing mutual support. They know that staying isolated does not help you cope with the world. In “Hush” the performers find solace in physicality and musicality. The piece is like a hand on your shoulder, a voice that travels with you, a rhythm you can lean into, like an embrace.
