Launch Event of "Offensive Tanz für junges Publikum"

Following the opening performance of PURPLE, the launch and information event of the project „Offensive Tanz für Junges Publikum Berlin“ will take place.
The Offensive Tanz für junges Publikum develops innovative dance formats for young audiences between the ages of 0 and 18, focusing primarily on production, networking and mediation. The two-year project is an association of four local, national and international partners from the contemporary dance and theatre scene for children and young people: PURPLE - International Dance Festival for a Young Audience, TANZKOMPLIZEN, Theater STRAHL and Theater o.N. By bundling their professional competences and creating sustainable artistic cooperations, dance for young audiences gains a stronger presence in the Berlin public and is established as a sustainable art form.
Funded by TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as well as the State of Berlin with funds from the Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
Workshops in Schools
Already last year we started to offer piece-related, preparatory workshops in schools. This year we have planned a free dance workshop in schools for the play "November" before the performance visit in January before the festival week. In the preparatory workshop we want the children to experiment themselves, which enables them to see the piece in greater complexity. We want to intensify the experience through the physical-dance preparation. This school class offer is carried out by two dance teachers and can be offered for six school classes by booking for a workshop and performance. Suitable rooms must be made available for the implementation of the dance workshop in schools.

Exchange forum for the artists of the festival and invited guests from the field of performing arts who deal with the subject area "Dance for young audiences".
Looking back, we want to exchange experiences with our audience - primarily school classes - in PURPLE. We would like to exchange experiences from the perspective of the dancers and choreographers during the performances, as well as from the responsible team. All participants in the festival and guests are invited - especially school teachers.
With this format we also want to give the participating artists the chance to get to know each other and our cooperation partners - which is usually not possible in the usual festival business.
